Ramez was dreaming of a A Perfect Day on Florida’s White Sand Beaches and decided with Bobi and Rico to go and see what the fuss was about. When you set out on a cross-country road trip, you expect great views, long drives, and unforgettable memories. What you don’t expect is losing all power in the middle of nowhere. But that’s exactly what almost happened to us—Ramez, Bobi, and our energetic and hungry road-trip dog, Rico—as we drove across the USA toward the white sand beaches of Florida.
Thankfully, the one thing that saved our adventure was a powerful and reliable travel companion: a Jackery backup battery.
Portable power saved The Near-Disaster in the Desert
Somewhere between Utah’s towering red canyons and Colorado’s endless roads, our phones and Starlink GPS died at the same time. With no chargers, no navigation, and no idea how far the next town was, things could have gone downhill fast.
That’s when Bobi shouted, “Ramez! Grab the Jackery!”
One press of the power button and suddenly everything was back online. Phones charging. GPS rerouting. Crisis averted.
After miles of highways, desert landscapes, and mountain passes, the final stretch of the trip led Ramez, Bobi, and little Rico to one of the most breathtaking spots in the country—the white sand beaches of Florida. The kind that look unreal at first glance, so bright they almost sparkle under the sun.
Ramez parked the car, opened the door, and before anyone could blink, Rico leaped out, his tiny paws kicking up soft clouds of powdery sand. His tail wagged like a helicopter blade, spinning faster with every new smell, sound, and seagull he spotted.
Bobi laughed, tossing her beautiful hair over her shoulder as she chased after the little pup. “Rico! Slow down, baby!” she called, though her grin said she didn’t mind one bit. Ramez watched them, smiling at how perfectly the moment fit the day—sunny, warm, peaceful, and full of joy.
The water was crystal clear and calm, with gentle waves rolling in like they were inviting everyone to relax. The three of them walked toward the shoreline, toes sinking into the cool sand with each step. Rico rushed ahead, barking at the water as if it were a new friend—and maybe a rival.
Rico doesn’t usually like the water, but when the first wave touched his paws, he jumped backward, startled, then charged forward again with pure excitement. Ramez rushes ahead and dives in the clear water. Bobi knelt down, scooped up Rico, and let the warm water wash over her hands. Rico wriggled and squeaked, then splashed down again, determined to “fight” the ocean.
Ramez set up their little beach spot—a towel, umbrella, and their Jackery battery quietly powering a portable speaker playing their favorite playlist. The music blended with the sound of seagulls and waves in perfect harmony.
Bobi twirled into the water, laughing as the cool waves wrapped around her legs. “Come in!” she called. Ramez joined her while Rico paddled his short legs, bravely swimming beside them like a tiny fluffy shark.
The three of them floated, splashed, and laughed as the clear Gulf waters shimmered around them. Every moment felt like a postcard. Every sound carried happiness. And every splash from Rico’s little paws made them laugh even harder.
Florida Adventures: From White Sand Beaches to Everglades Nights
After their picture-perfect day on Florida’s white sand beaches, Ramez, his beautiful girlfriend Bobi, and their little puppy Rico weren’t ready to leave the sunshine just yet. So they packed up their sandy towels, shook the last grains of powdery beach sand off their feet, and headed inland toward the untamed wilderness of the Everglades.

A Night at the Everglades Campsite
The Everglades greeted them with warm air, endless sawgrass, and the wild chorus of nature preparing for sunset. Their campsite sat near a slow-moving river, shaded by towering trees with Spanish moss swaying like ghostly ribbons in the warm breeze.
As soon as they stepped out of the vehicle, the nighttime symphony began—frogs croaking, insects humming, and distant splashes echoing through the wetlands.
Rico sniffed everything with proud explorer energy, though he stayed close to Ramez’s legs, unsure whether the shadows held friends or foes.
While setting up their cozy camp, Bobi spotted glowing eyes along the waterline. “Uh… Ramez… is that what I think it is?”
And it was.
Alligators in Alligator Alley
They had unknowingly set up camp near Alligator Alley, one of Florida’s most well-known stretches for spotting gators. As the sun dipped, the reptiles emerged—huge, ancient, and eerily silent.
Dozens of alligators lounged in the distance, some floating like logs, others resting on the muddy banks with wide, toothy grins. Ramez kept a watchful eye, especially with little Rico bouncing around.
“Good thing we’re not swimming here,” Ramez said with a nervous laugh, pulling Rico a little closer.
Despite their intimidating appearance, the alligators kept to themselves, content to watch their new visitors with slow, prehistoric blinks.
The group settled around a small, safe campfire. Their Jackery battery powered soft lights, a portable fan, and even heated up a little meal—off-grid comfort at its finest. Bobi rested her head on Ramez’s shoulder while Rico curled up by their feet, the fire reflecting gently in his sleepy eyes.
As the stars appeared, shimmering above the Everglades, Ramez whispered,
“This… this is the kind of night we’ll remember forever.”
Back to the Beach: Turtles & Dolphins
The next morning, after a peaceful Everglades sunrise, they made their way back toward the coast. The ocean was calling, and Rico barked happily as if he knew more adventure was waiting.
On their return to the Florida shoreline, the water was even clearer than before—perfect turquoise fading into deep sapphire.
Rico was the first to notice the sea turtles. Two of them glided gracefully near the shallow waves, their shells shimmering in the sunlight. Bobi gasped with delight, filming the moment as the turtles surfaced peacefully.
But then came the real surprise.
Ramez’s Close Encounter With a Dolphin
While standing at the shoreline, letting waves roll over his ankles, Ramez noticed a sudden splash. Then another. Something large was cutting swiftly through the water—smooth, sleek, and fast.
A dolphin.
It chased a small school of fish right toward the shore, slicing through the water like an arrow. The dolphin surged forward, causing fish to leap into the air in a frantic silver spray—some even landing briefly on the sand before flipping back into the waves.
Before he could react, the dolphin swam so close that Ramez could feel the rush of water brush against his legs.
Bobi shouted with excitement, “Ramez! It almost touched you!”
He stumbled back, laughing in shock and amazement. The dolphin lingered for a moment just feet away, poking its curious head above the surface as if to say hello, before diving deep and disappearing into the shimmering blue.
With turtles gliding through the water, dolphins dancing near the shore, and the memory of glowing alligator eyes in the Everglades, the Florida portion of their trip became one of the highlights of the journey.
As the three of them—Ramez, Bobi, and little Rico—watched the sun melt into the horizon, they knew that this adventure wasn’t just another stop on their road trip.
It was a story they’d tell for the rest of their lives.
When the sun began to set, the sky turned shades of orange, pink, and gold that reflected beautifully on the glassy surface of the water. Bobi leaned into Ramez, her hand resting gently on his. Rico curled into a ball between them, worn out from hours of playing.
It was one of those days that didn’t need phones, screens, or distractions—just each other, the ocean, and the kind of peace only the beach can bring.
And as they packed up, Rico let out a happy little sigh, as if saying, Let’s do this every day.

An Unforgettable Florida Journey Continues
After their wild encounters with dolphins, turtles, and alligators, Ramez, Bobi, and little Rico weren’t done making memories in Florida. In fact, their next adventures would be just as magical—literally.

A Magical Day at Disney’s EPCOT
The next morning, the trio headed to Orlando, where they met up with their close friends Sarah and Warren for a full day of fun at Disney’s EPCOT. The moment they walked through the gates, the energy was electric—music playing, children laughing, scents of food from around the world drifting through the air.
Rico, riding in his stylish little dogVan , became an instant celebrity when going out for walks during our visit to the park. Kids pointed. Adults waved. Cast members melted as we visited him several times during the day.
Bobi was all smiles.
“This is like another world,” she said, taking in the giant silver sphere of Spaceship Earth.
They traveled “around the world,” savoring bites from Italy, Mexico, Japan, France, and Morocco. Ramez and Warren couldn’t resist trying almost every drink festival booth while Sarah and Bobi bought matching Minnie ears.
The group laughed all day—through the rides, the shows, the fireworks, and especially while Rico tried to steal a churro.
When nighttime fireworks burst above the lake, the reflections glowing in the water, the group felt like they were frozen in a perfect moment. Sparks lit up Bobi’s eyes as she leaned into Ramez, while Rico rested in the van, exhausted from all the excitement.
Relaxing at a Luxurious Orlando Resort
After EPCOT, they checked into a beautiful Orlando resort—one with palm trees, swaying cabanas, and pools as warm as a jacuzzi. The water felt like a silky bath even under the night sky.
Ramez and Bobi slipped into the pool, letting the warm waves melt away the long day’s walking. Rico lounged in a fluffy towel on the poolside chair like he owned the whole place. Sarah and Warren floated nearby, glowing from the Disney magic and Florida warmth.
“It’s like we’re swimming in a dream,” Bobi whispered as she drifted across the water.
Ramez nodded.
“This whole trip is becoming one.”

Family Time: Staying With Cousin Mike & Carol
After a few days in Orlando, it was time to reconnect with family. They drove south to stay with Cousin Mike and his beautiful wife Carol. Their home was warm, inviting, and filled with laughter the moment they walked through the door.
Mike made drinks and we sat outdoors in the lanai while Carol prepared to go out. They made us feel instantly at home. Rico took a nap in the room as the adults shared stories late into the night.
The guest room they stayed in was cozy and peaceful—something Ramez appreciated deeply after so many miles on the road. Mike told hilarious family stories. Carol gave Bobi a tour of her beautiful garden, filled with blooming flowers and butterflies fluttering through the air.
It was the kind of family visit that fills the heart.

Reuniting With Cousins Maggie & Saleh in Sarasota
A few days later, the adventure continued west toward Sarasota, where cousins Maggie and her husband Saleh were waiting. They met up in the charming Sarasota town center, filled with boutique shops, palm-lined walkways, bubbling fountains, and the sounds of soft live music drifting from local cafés. They were putting up Christmas decoration and we took pictures with the Big Christmas tree.
Maggie hugged them tight, delighted to see Bobi and meet little Rico.
“He’s even cuter in person!” she squealed, scratching behind his ears.
Saleh took the group to one of their favorite waterfront spots where they all shared fresh seafood, laughter, and hours of catching up. The sun set behind the buildings, casting golden light across the town center, and the entire group felt the comfort and joy of being surrounded by loved ones.
Ramez and Bobi strolled with Maggie and Saleh through the glowing streets as Rico trotted proudly beside them. The night was warm, peaceful, and full of the easy conversation that only happens with family you adore.

She kissed his cheek, and Rico barked as if saying, Let’s go find out.

Powering Through Every Stop Across the USA
The more miles we covered, the more we realized we couldn’t travel without our Jackery.
- In Texas, it kept Rico’s mini fan running in the heat.
- In the RV at night, it powered our LED lights, cameras, and speaker.
- On the Florida beaches, it kept our cooler cold, charged all devices, and powered our music while Rico chased seagulls along the shore.
Whether we were off-grid or just in a convenience-store desert, the Jackery kept us connected, comfortable, and prepared.
